Description
This three-day course will prepare water operations personnel or others who would like to become a water operator to take and pass the State Water Operator Exam. This course will be for those who would like to obtain a Water Operator Certification license as well as for those wanting to tackle more advanced topics for the higher-level exams. Water operations experts will present the topics, which will include: Pumps & Motors, Disinfection, Safety & Security, Math, Rules and Regulations, and Operations & Maintenance.

Special Math & Exam Prep Sessions
Of special interest will be a math help breakout session where attendees can work in small groups and one-on-one with math experts to focus on mathematics questions at their comfort level. Also, a final review session will be given where hundreds of realistic practice questions are reviewed just prior to taking the exam. The final day will conclude with an opportunity to take and pass the official State exam.
Take the Utah Water Operator Certification Exam
Following the final review session in the morning of the third day, the Utah State Water Operator Exam will be available for those wanting to take the exam.

PURPOSE of AWARD
AWWA’s The Water Equation Campaign and the Intermountain Section AWWA , will award the One AWWA Operator Scholarship for Water Operator training and education, including:
Registration for Advanced Operator Training (Cram for the Exam)
Registration for Intermountain Section AWWA's Water Quality and Infrastructure Midyear Conference
Registration for Intermountain Section AWWA's Annual Conference
A complementary one-year AWWA Operator membership.
ELIGIBILITY/GUIDELINES
Applicant must be a current water operator of a water system servicing 3,300 people or less, or seeking to enter the water operator profession.
Applicant must be pursuing an Operator’s License or Certification, two or four-year degree related to the water operator profession, or professional development.
Applicant must reside or work within the geographical boundaries of the Intermountain Section AWWA.
Acceptance of scholarship constitutes permission to use recipient’s name and scholarship story for purpose of promotion.
APPLICATION PROCESS: DEADLINE/SELECTION/PRESENTATION
Applications will be received by the Intermountain Section until December 1, 2018.
