2025 Election

Voting for 2nd Trustee & Section Director

Each year the Intermountain Section (IMS) members elect a Second Trustee, who will progress through the Section leadership positions in a span of 6 years (i.e., rotating through the Second Trustee, First Trustee, Vice Chair, Chair Elect, Section Chair, and Past Chair positions). The Second Trustee is part of the Board of Trustees, the governing body of the Intermountain Section. The Trustees perform the duties assigned by the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Every three years, a new Section Director is elected. They represent the Section on the Association level, sit on the Board of Directors, and serve for three years. They are an important liaison between the Section and AWWA.

Director Candidates

Brock Emerson

Brock Emerson has been an active member of AWWA for his entire career. As a young treatment engineer working for CH2M Hill in Washington DC, Brock volunteered as a room monitor for ACE. It is fair to say that those eight hours changed his professional life. Brock joined the committee later that week and is still an active member. Engagement in AWWA has helped Brock grow technically and provided him with a vast network of friends and colleagues in the industry. During Brock’s tenure on the Coagulation and Filtration Committee, he served two terms as Chair. He is most proud of the development of the Water Treatment 101 Session for ACE, which were added as a standing session and are now offered every year at ACE. At the Section level, Brock served on the Board as Member Services Chair for two terms, focusing on member engagement and experience.

As the Chief Executive Officer at Intuitech Inc, a Salt Lake City based water treatment pilot manufacturer, Brock actively manages the day-to-day administration of the organization. Brock holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MS in Environmental Engineering and an Executive MBA. Prior to joining CH2M Hill, Brock was a Peace Corps volunteer in The Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

She also is in her second term on the Association’s Public Affairs Council, where she built relationships with water professionals across North America and brought national-level insight back to our section. Monica’s passion for water and her commitment to AWWA run deep, and she’s dedicated to advancing our mission for years to come.
