Thursday October 6th @1:30 pm Tour of Flaming Gorge Dam Register to join us for a guided tour of Flaming Gorge Dam. Information: The guided tour of Flaming Gorge Dam will be approximately 1 hour in length and is limited to 20 participants. Please note that one way drive time to the dam is 1 hour. Cost: $15 (includes lunch and tour). Lunch: Lunches will be available for tour attendees at 1:00pm in the exhibit hall. Due to the 1-hour travel time, attendees will finish lunch and depart for Flaming Gorge dam promptly at 1:30pm. Carpooling: We are asking for volunteers to help carpool tour attendees to/from the dam. If you are able to volunteer as potential carpool designee, please select “YES” on the Carpool Volunteer section of your registration. 
Flaming Gorge Dam Facts: · “Flaming Gorge” was named by John Wesley Powell and his crew during their May 27, 1869 expedition. · Construction of the dam began in June 1958 and was completed in 1963 when President John F. Kennedy fired up the first dam generator. · The dam produces 500 million kilowatt hours of energy each year, distributing power to Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nebraska, and Nevada. · The reservoir holds 3.8 million acre-feet of water.
