Mentors Needed for ACE15

We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to serve as an ACE15 Mentor for first-time student/YP attendees. Below are the expectations for a mentor:

o   Contact the winner prior to the conference

o   Give them advice on what the conference is like.

o   Tips they need to know about the trip or conferences

o   We would ideally want the mentor to invite the mentee to sit with them at the opening session, or sit with them at lunch, or take them to a reception

 The goal of this mentor program is for the first-time student/YP ACE attendee to know at least one person before they get to the conference. We hope that this experience will make the mentee less nervous and intimidated about the event.

 We will have a brief virtual training on Wednesday, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time to review your duties as a mentor. If you aren’t able to make the training but still want to be a mentor, contact Nancy Sullivan at nsullivan@awwa.org or (303) 794-7711.

 We will provide you with a list of student/YP activities and sessions that you can use when talking to the first-time attendee.
