Mentors Needed for ACE15

We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to serve as an ACE15 Mentor for first-time student/YP attendees.Click Here for more info.

 


    

Monica Hoyt Selected as New Advocacy and Outreach Chair

The Board of the Intermountain Section AWWA is happy to announce that Monica Hoyt has been selected to fill the term of the Advocacy and Outreach Council Chair position.  This position was vacated by Stan Postma who recently retired from MWH.  Monica is the Lab Director for Central Utah Water Conservancy District.  The Advocacy and Outreach Council consists of a group of committees responsible for planning and implementing programs for and about people outside of the water industry.  Monica will oversee those committees and coordinate with the Chairs.  Welcome Monica!

                              

 



So Many Things Going on at the Intermountain Section

Over the next few weeks we have a number of things that you might be interested in….

 

Exhibitor and Sponsor Registration is now open for the Intermountain Section AWWA’s Annual Conference in Logan, Utah on September 16th through 18th.  Space is limited so register soon.  For more information about exhibiting or sponsoring please Click Here.

 

Our Career Center has numerous job posting.  Check out the many jobs available in the local water industry.  Everything from engineering to administration to internships.  There is probably something you or an associate may be interested in.  Click Here for more details.

 

Water Week Volunteers Needed.  Water Week is the first week in May and is a major annual educational campaign designed to provide public awareness and involvement in water issues, both locally and globally.  We are in need of volunteers to help out with our Library Program and to staff exhibit booths at fairs and celebrations during the week.  For more information Click Here.

 

Water For People Benefit Golf Tournament is May 5th.  The 11th Annual Water For People Golf Tournament is just around the corner on May 5, 2015!  We will be golfing at Thanksgiving Point Golf Course, and thanks to our sponsors, we are able to keep the price down to $49 per golfer ($196 per foursome).  Registration includes golf and lunch.  Make sure to share this with your friends and colleagues!  To register and see your options for sponsoring Click Here.

 

Vote for your Favorite Water Week Photo.  During Water Week the Intermountain Section AWWA sponsors several arts contests celebrating Water. Using different types of art such as drawing, poetry and photography people show how important water is to us.  Our Photo Contest is very popular and is for people to participate in and express different views of what our Water Week theme means to them.  The theme this year is Water: Wild and Wonderful. Please Click Here to vote for your favorite photos for Water Week.  You can log in as many times as you would like to vote.  There are two cash prizes that will be awarded to the winners:

  • Grand Prize is $200.00

  • Peoples Choice Award is $100.00
