The American Water Works Association announced that the Intermountain Section of AWWA is one of the recipients of the 2015 AWWA Section Education Award for the Leadership Forum Program. This award is given to Sections with outstanding educational programs.
As a recipient, the Intermountain Section will be honored during the AWWA Annual Conference & Exposition in Anaheim, California. During Leading for Growth: Section Volunteer Appreciation & Awards Forum, AWWA President John Donahue will present a certificate of merit and an AWWA Bookstore credit to the Section.
The Leadership Forum Program will also be recognized in a special publication, The Best of AWWA’s Section Education Programs for 2015. This publication will highlight all entries for this year and will be available on the AWWA web site.
The Leadership Forum is a program developed by the Management Development Committee which is Chaired by Clint Jensen with Granger-Hunter Improvement District. This program was developed to help prepare our future leaders, not with a traditional class room environment, but through interactive discussions with water industry leaders, collaboration with peers, and experiencing first-hand the sights and sounds of what it takes to be a leader. This is an intensive, educational program for staff who are interested in and have a potential to assume a larger leadership role in their organization. Participants will be introduced to critical issues and top decision-makers through a series of day-long sessions.
The Section will start taking Applications / Nominations for acceptance for the 2015 to 2016 sessions starting June 15th. They will be accepted until October 15th. Space is limited to a small group so please submit your applications as soon as possible. The classes include materials, instruction, field trip transportation, lunch and snacks.
