New Strategic Plan Approved by Section Board

The Board of the Intermountain Section AWWA at their meeting on Friday, May 15, 2015 approved a new Strategic Plan.  

The new Strategic Plan will help the Section to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that our members, staff, and other stakeholders are working toward common goals, establish agreement around our intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust the Section's direction in response to a changing environment. It is intended to help our Board, Councils, and Committees produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what the Intermountain Section is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the future.

The Section’s Strategic Plan is an outgrowth of the American Water Works Association’s Strategic Plan.  Through a series of Board meetings and a Strategies Workshop at the Council and Committee Retreat the Section was able to create the following Vision, Mission, and Core Principles:

A better AWWA Intermountain Section through better water.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the AWWA Intermountain Section is to provide solutions to effectively manage water, the world’s most important resource, by offering service, training, knowledge and networking through teamwork with our customers and members.
