Section Chair's Message

It has been a fun and eventful summer packed with a variety of training and activities held for our Section members. Events included System/Operator training, Leadership Forum training, Administrative Professionals training, workshops, webinars, participation in community events, and last but not least, ACE 16. All of these kept our committees and staff very busy. This fall and winter there will be several more upcoming events. You can find them on our website at ww.ims-awwa.org. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who make these events possible. We could not do them without your help and support.

A number of Section members attended ACE 16 in Chicago, IL. The sessions were excellent and provided timely information on many issues in the water industry. The Exhibit Hall served as a great resource to visit with vendors and find out about new products.

At ACE, our members and the Section received awards and participated in the Meter Madness competition.

* Mark Stanley, O & M Superintendent, Salt Lake City Public Utilities, was awarded the Fuller Award for his many contributions to the water industry.

* Central Utah Water Conservancy District received the AWWA Exemplary Source Water Protection Award.

* The Member Engagement Committee was awarded the AWWA Club 7 Award for achieving the highest percent increase in new members in our division.

* Austin Crane, Herriman City, won our local Meter Madness competition and represented our Section at ACE.

Congratulations to all and thank you for your hard work and dedication to providing safe, clean, and reliable drinking water.

The Intermountain Section Annual Convention will be held September 14-16, 2016 in St. George, UT. We are celebrating 60 years as a Section! By attending, you will find informative sessions on current issues and the opportunity to network with the best people in the industry. There is still time to register, if you have not already, so come and celebrate with us!
