Director’s Report
Scott W. Paxman, P.E.
Weber Basin Water Conservancy District

November 2016

We appreciated all those that attended Intermountain Section’s Annual conference in St. George. The technical sessions were high quality and very interesting. Our Association guest, Vice President Jacqueline Torbert, was also very impressed with every aspect of the conference. This was her first time to the state of Utah and was able to take in some of the awesome vistas of Southern Utah, which are much different that her home state of Florida.

I wanted to congratulate our incoming 2nd Trustee, Ying-Ying McCauley and incoming Director, Gerard Yates. This is a huge commitment on their part and we appreciate their willingness to help in these capacities. Also, we appreciate the other nominees for those positions and hope they continue to serve the Section in other ways.

I would feel remiss if I did not mention the huge contribution to the Association and Section from Rick Wheadon. Rick passed away recently after a heroic battle with cancer. Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife Jana and their family. Rick was so generous with his time and energy with his family, church, and work, including his considerable involvement in AWWA. He was a good friend and colleague and will be greatly missed.

Thank you all so much for all you do in helping to aid in the success of Intermountain Section AWWA. It does make a difference to so many.

Scott Paxman
